Sign up for a Kiteboarding discovery course - A fun day covering similar skills as you would do on a beginner course. This course aims to give you a better understanding of what makes kiteboarding the great sport it is.

You should leave with good knowledge on how the equipment works and you will get into the water flying the kite. You will also gain skills in rigging and flying a 4 line and/or a ram-
air trainer kite.

Your level will be certified with your IKO Member Card at the end of your Discovery lesson Kiteboarder Level 1, or when you can successfully move on to the next level of riding!

You can also keep a more in depth record of your development in the Handbook, having your instructor sign off on all individual skills as you master them.

* Know hazards on a spot (obstacles, immediate dangers)

* Set up a training kite

* Know the use of safety systems

* Have basic flying skills with trainer kite

* Launch and land the training kite with an assistant

* Twist and untwist the lines while flying the kite

* Walk and change directions while flying the kite

* Know the wind window and understand it in 3 dimensions

* Set-up a 4/5 line kite with a full de-power system

* Pre-flight check of equipment and settings

* In flight check of equipment and settings
