The building of the Big Buddha statue in Phuket has been going on for many years. The main image is 45 meters high and sits on top of hill in over 400m above sea level overlooking the south of Phuket Island.

There are son many types of variations of Temples and Buddha statues in Thailand, I think this project in Phuket coupled with the other ones in the country make Thailand a truly unique place for tourism. This Buddha statue should be added to a Buddhist travelers list of destinations to visit!
